2018 was full of so many excellent weddings, filled with beautiful, authentic people inside and out! Looking back on the year and selecting just a handful to showcase on the blog has been difficult! Jake and Karina’s was one for the books. Not going to lie, Derek & I were a little surprised when we first arrived at the hair and makeup (at Wild Goose Inn [GORGEOUS PLACE!]) to learn that the bride had grown up half way around the world in Kazakhstan. It’s not the norm for us to first meet a couple on their wedding day, but this one was planned from out of state & so our conversations up to this point were all over the phone. Anyways, this wedding reminds me so much of how beautiful it is to live in a country of so many different people and backgrounds. It truly is a melting pot! The surprises for the day didn’t stop there. Upon our arrival at the reception venue, we found an art fair going on in the streets! That’s right, the kind of surprise a photographer dreams of. How did we get so lucky?!? We had to sneak outside during the reception to enjoy the beautiful creations on display! Scroll to see. Enjoy!
